Bronte Adam (b. 1993) is a British contemporary printmaker based between the UK and Mexico.
Bronte draws much of her inspiration from the natural environment and creates through experience and observation. As a rebellion to the throw away culture and mass consumerism of the modern world, Bronte embraces the process of slow craftsmanship and hand printing. She creates small print batches in woodblock and lino, with hand painted elements.
Bronte trained as a print and textile designer at Leeds Arts University. She went on to designing prints predominantly for interior soft furnishings. Her textile background has left its impression within Bronte’s prints and the lines between the two disciplines often overlap.
Her recent body of work is inspired by time spent along the coast of Baja California Sur, Mexico. Bronte embraces the sensory experience of living in a totally new environment and culture. Through bold colour and stylised characters, Bronte explores personal narratives and observations in nature.
